Re: how to stream netflix to tv?
We use Netflix streaming service regularly through our kids Wii, iPad, iPhone and Ipod touch. Apple make either an RCA or Component adapter, which works quite well (not High Definition) There's also an HDMI connector available, but it's still not High Definition.
Through the Wii, it's a component connection, again, not High Definition.
If you have an X-Box, I believe you can stream HD and with a Playstation it is also HD...
This is all predicated on the strength/quality of your Wi-Fi signal. If you have broadband, you should be able to stream HD. If you have DSL, then probably not, unless, it's the Fiber Optic or high-speed DSL.
What awesome about Netflix is as long as you have a 3g and/or 4g connection on your smartphone, you can watch it anywhere; furthermore, if you have a smartphone to TV adapter, you can watch them on any TV. We regularly connect my iPhone to the camper TV when camping, so the kids can watch movies and TV shows. Depending on signal strength but it's usually a really clear picture!
Netflix is not the be all/end all of movies, while I think it has a good amount of older movies, I think their TV series collection is awesome and it allows me to watch whole seasons back to back, w/o commercials. A lot of Discovery, History Channel, HBO, Showtime programming, etc...
For $7.99/month, it's easily cheap entertainment and when I work I take the iPad, find a wireless connection (readily available) and watch movies/TV shows between calls!
