new to the I/O fraternity. Picked up a 22 ft islander with a 165 mercruiser in it. the outdrive was rebuilt and installed 20 years ago and then never ran....but i can see that there are no trim cylinders on the unit....

so i know ill have to aquire them at some point, and i want to start looking now. Plus i bought out a marinas supply of parts and I have hundreds of gaskets sets for outdrives of all makes and many are for mercruisers of different styles....

so before i offload these gaskets, impellor kits and outdrive parts, i want to set aside all the parts and gaskets that fit my motor and outdrive.

soooo where am i looking to tell if i have a bravo or alpha and what #?

heres my outdrive before i dragged the boat homeZ:

Ayuh,.... It appears to be an MC-1, but clickin' Ziggy's link will help ya verify that...

It's Not an Alpha 1, nor a Bravo...

Try this one, has different links. http://forums.iboats.com/mercruiser...ow-identify-alpha-style-outdrives-592828.html

Also, your problem with the link ziggy gave you could be the title of the thread (Adults Only) click on the link just below it, same info, just a title change.

thanks, i have the MC-1 outdrive... and luckily , I have a bunch of gaskets and seals that fit that unit...which I has the two trim cylinders though.
