How to test for spark without cranking engine ?

Is it possible to test my Thunderbolt IV without cranking engine? I went to start the engine and found my carb leaking. But had no fuel on plugs . I will rebuild the carb , but i think I should check my ignition also.
I can't just crank the engine because of my new flat tappet cam. So I am at a lost as to how to check the ignition system.

I tested the ignition and rebuilt the carb. She sounds good at 2000 rpm.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.

Maybe he has some new fangled instant running engine that doesn't need to crank first.

as long as you prime the oil system, used assembly lube during the build and pre-filled the lifters with oil, you can crank it. however based on post #4, its running.
