Hello,<br /><br />I have Merc 2002, 9.9 hp 2 strk.need to replace impeller. can not find service manual yet, stil new. pls help how to lower the lower unit.<br /><br /> Thank you.

Ive got a 150 merc. Just replaced my impeller also. All of the bolts should be visibl except 2. above your trim tab there may be a plastic cap.pry that off to remove the trim tab.then underneath your trim tab is one more bolt. then take your shoe, place it on the lu and smack it with a hammer until it seoerates

the trim tab is a zinc piece that looks like a fin .directly above the prop

hello,<br /><br />I removed 3 bolts right at trim tab, and dropped down about 1 inch. and i see the housing of water pump. I used to replaced impeller on 1980 15hp Evenrude. by removing bolts and put the gear in the right position and it dropped even lower. I just don't understad about this model. is any shift rod that i need to disconnect?<br /> any info will be appriciated.

idont know your model but i did have to disconnect a shift cable. try pulling more cable out of the hole to give yourself more room. mine had a vacuum connection, real easy to get off. It was a plastic bolt.I didnt need to disconnect the shift rod because my shift shaft just slid in and out of a sleeve.I also kept everything in nuetral . Keep in mind that i really did have to beat mine down with a hammmer.let me knom how it goes.
