I liked the set screw idea. If all were equally spaced it shouldn't be off balance and if the are not too deep it might even preserve the gears in case of a strike?
Yeah I considered doing that, but was concerned it might effect the balance,this is the first time I've attempted repairing the hub,I'll let y'all know if it works
Many posts here about pinning, bonding the hub to the prop bore.
Hubs are designed to slip for a reason: To protect the prop shaft and L/U bevel gears.
Bypassing this has risks. I guess your decision is whether a new prop is worth more than your old motor. I'd check out the availability and price of new motor innards.
Yes I understand what you're saying,it's just an experiment,to see it it'll work,am going to buy a new propeller, definitely don't need anything happening with the gear set, that's pretty pricey!!
