Hello Everyone,

Want to get some quick advice in how to install these....

New hydraulic manifold and new anode (mercathode removed)

Here is how I am thinking these components are to be installed:

1. Hydraulic Manifold Gasket (large)
2. Hydraulic Manifold
3. Plug insert through hole in manifold
3a. This is usually where the mercathode wires go through
3b. This plug and hole are tapered - so I guess I push this up from the bottom - small end going up first?
4. Small gasket
***5. Do I meed to use the small black plate (above the screws) over the gasket? ***
6. Screws to hold it all together on the manifold
7. Anode
7a. looks like I may need to drill 2 holes - one at top and one at bottom
7b. Anode is held on by 2 nuts and secured by those 2 nuts on pegs on bottom of bell housing

*** p.s. Those 2 screws are too short to go through the anode and secure into the manifold...***

...Let me know if this seems about right??

Thanks!

You don't need the anode if your not installing a Mercathode.
There is no drilling involved in any part or the install.
The seal p/n 12077 goes in from the bottom

Great - thanks for the info!

I was under the impression that I needed a Mercathode OR an Anode...?
So by removing the Mercatode and taking it off - I don't need an anode either...

So I push up the plug as illustrated - that helps a lot - thanks!

I don't need the smaller gasket or smaller plate either?

You need a Mercathode IF you leave your boat in the water and connected to shore power. If your boat is not left in the water connected to shore power you do not need one.

I don't need the smaller gasket or smaller plate either?

You need gasket item 23 for the manifold. If your not installing the anode you do not need the gasket which is used in place of the plug to seal around the wires

Hey All... reviving an old thread here.. I'm finding out I have to do this again due to the manifold going bad and leaking. I ended up purchasing an OEM manifold from Quicksilver P/N 8M0137703 if anyone needs to know.

Anyway.. does anyone use silicone on any of the gaskets for the hydraulic manifold.. or just put them on dry and wrench them down ?

In taking my old one off.. it appears my mechanic put silicone on the gasket.. between the gasket and gimbal...

Thanks!

Oh - one more question...

Can I reuse the 12077 plug? The one I had in there was maybe 2-3 years old. I was able to get the old one out.. it was a pain.. but its in good shape.

Thanks!

Anyone have any ideas about the silicone and re-use of the rubber grommet?

Would really like to finish this up over the weekend...

Thanks!
