I bought the boat and motor seperately. I installed the mini jacker and in the testing phase. I've only taken it out once and took the kids for a ride. Then opened her up a few times with my bro in the middle. The thing hauled some hash but the bow was riding a little higher than i liked and hitting the waves kinda hard. I moved the pin 2 spaces in to the second to the first space and made a huge improvement on the ride but it lost power after a minute on the way back with the waves to our backs???
I'm gonna clean the carb cause i was told it had been sitting for awhile/fuel lines are clean. It has good compression.
I'm saving to buy a tach cause I'm riding pretty light with no battery, manual start 2 stroke on a alweld 14x44 modv with a 30hp and factory prop. May need a little more bite on it. anyway big wishlist, little wallet:joyous:

from that description I see no symptom that calls for a foil being added to the engine.

Not "fixed" but rather "compensated for"

Back in the day before the foil, they weren't needed, that's why ther weren't invented yet. IMHO, hulls were designed better back then - the buoyancy was better and the motors were more reasonable. Today we add motors that are too big and heavy, in the name of "performance", which to many means speed. Then, we also design the layout so they are even more stern heavy. If you didn't have such a big engine there would be no need to "compensate". The foil is a good compromise in many cases - I never saw anybody downsize their motor instead!
