Replace your manifolds and risers and be done with it. Don't use your boat anymore until you replace them.

at least get them pressure tested.......

just fyi.....my water was not showing up right away it took at least a day to get enough to notice at first then quickly got worse.....

....you could try this but running the boat with water getting in there is not a good idea......drain all of the water from the manifolds/risers and get it off the top of piston......close the manifold/riser drains run the motor......drain risers/manifolds again quickly...........let boat sit for a few hours and see if you have water.....

I tried the above test...drained manifold.riser after runnning the motor for a few hrs. came back next day...stilll had water in #6 cyl coming out the sp plug...Its got to be the head. I did some research on the casting # on the heads and some have indicated that they were prone to cracking. weekend project is to swap in vortec heads and intake.

replace manifold and riser on that side of motor...AT LEAST.
one manifold and one riser is cheaper than vortec heads.

Re: HydroLocking 383 mercruiser

UPDATE!!! Had head tested, no cracks...checked #6 cyl wall again with flashlight....small 1 in crack about 1/2 in from top of deck. I'm really looking fwd to having to pull the motor and take it to the shop. Being it is a 383 stroker and only has 95 hrs on it, I'm going to take it to the shop and if their are no more hidden cracks, have them sleeve #6 cyl and get back on the lake.
