Re: I feel bad for Rush

The liberal media lives and shines on CNN, HN and the 3 major TV networks. When you talk about talk radio, the conservative view has rocketed to the top. This is purley supply and demand at its finest. People are tired of the liberl bias on TV so more and more people get their news and views via talk radio. The reason you don't hear liberal radio is it does not work. No one listens thus they go out of business and never get sindicated.

As far a Rush goes, the man has an addiction. The man has now admitted he has a problem (who cares why he admitted it). If anyone has been through or known someone who has been through this, should understand that his life is at stake here. As a fellow human I hope and pray that he works these problems out. I would say the same for Clinton if it was him. By the way I am extreamly conservative and a "Ditto-head". Anyone being happy because of another persons misery should take a better look at themselves before they should judge and convict on any account. If we want to debate ideals and philosophies, fine. But like it or not this is a human life and deserves our hopes and prayers of healing not conviction and judgment because he has a different view than yours.

Re: I feel bad for Rush

oddjob, I like what Rush has to say. There were times I thought he was a bit to over the top on things. I am not a constant listener of his, do not get me wrong. I am no "ditto head" by any means.

Yet, if he was using the drugs as a crutch then I think we may have seen the last of him as a public speaker. Although this whole ordeal may play a part in humbling him as well.

However, I do hope he comes back as strong as ever and beats this crap. Just know that I will be one of those that will be watching him closely. I do not trust people who deal with drug dealers. I understand that we are all human, so I will not condem him because of these things. I just know that he has a major character flaw that can't be left unchecked any more.

Hell, if he can come back he would be one hell of a spokesman to encourage others to do the same! Lets hope he does recover and some good will come out of this. From what I have seen though, I am not going to hold my breath. It's just my personal experiences there that say that though.

Re: I feel bad for Rush

Can you please tell me a national (or local if you live here) democrat radio host I can listen to for a few days <--- that is not a joke, I just don't know any and would like to here some different opinions for once.
Alan Colmes of Hannity and Colmes

Although I disagree with Alan on most issues I have a great deal of respect for him becuase he is intellctually pretty honest and I will never forget the night he would not allow a radical left guy attack and disrepect his partner Sean Hannity. He is true class act.

Alan Colmes joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in 1996. He serves as the liberal counterpart and co-host of Hannity & Colmes (Monday-Friday 9-10PM ET), a one-hour debate-driven talk show focusing on controversial newsmakers and issues of the day.

After a string of successful radio shows on WNBC, WABC and WMCA in New York, Colmes gained a reputation as a hard-hitting liberal known for his electric commentary on the American agenda. He has interviewed many key political figures, which include Former President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Steve Forbes, New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Ralph Nader and Ken Starr.

Colmes hosted his own self-titled late night radio talk show on WEVD-AM. After penetrating the Boston market with a hit radio show on WZLX, Colmes went from major market success to national talk radio prominence in 1990 with his fast-paced and informative afternoon news-driven show, which aired daily on hundreds of affiliates nationwide. Most recently, he returned to radio as host of a news-driven late-night talk show FOX Live with Alan Colmes, which is syndicated by the FOX News Channel.

Re: I feel bad for Rush

Samagee I respect your oppinion. Andy I think I do remember the antidruggie comments. He did have harsh comments.

Samagee, I dont always agree with rush. I remember early in his career he made some statements about pets that I didnt agree with. He didnt have pets and I did.

Then his wife went and put some pets in their life and he soon was humbled and addmitted to degree that his point of veiw is changed.
The pets in question are kitty-cats. Rush didnt know he could like or love a cat( much like some individuals on this site ).

-Now I know all you macho cat-haters on this site will have a ball with this post-

I put up with his ignorance about cats because I knew he was ignorant on the subject due to lack of a danm cat.

Being ignorant on one or two subjects doesnt nullify what one does know.

Well oddjob I'm with you on the cat thing. I have had cats all my life and will never be w/o one. The one I have now is the best ever. He does his business out doors and comes when he is called. And strabgely enough, loves water and even swims. We got a new dog a few months ago and it took a while but the cat was able to let the dog know who was in charge :D

Obviously Rod has never listened to Rush or read his books. Nice try Rod, but a little too obvious. Tell you what, when Rusty gets back on the air, listen to his show one month, then tell us if you still agree with anything you posted here about him. ;)

Rod aint gonna do no such thing. His peers would roast him if he did and word got out...that reminds me I believe there are alot more folks that listen to Rush but are afraid share that with their friends to avoid confrontation.

Same prob we have with congress, their afraid to be conservative even after the people put them there to be so.

Rush is right about libs, even with "half his brain tied behind his back". :D

Well, we all watch the nightly news, so we're fair and balanced. How about you Rod? Why dont you listen to some talk radio for a month or 2 and then you can be fair and balanced too!

Re: I feel bad for Rush

It sure seems funny how we all have our opinion about the rights and wrongs of Clinton and Rush. Both of them being somewhat stretchers of the truth. But nothing is ever mentioned about our present presidents cocaine problem before he was president. Apparently that didn't have an affect on him becoming president. I Love this country, I just need to move farther south! :D

About GW, Don't most of us cut ourselves and others some slack when we were young and stupid? Problem with those like B.C. is that they have never grown out of it. He pointed his finger at us and scolded us to believe what he was saying while he was relying on some "plausible deniability" about the definition of sxual relations, and then later about the present or past tense of "is". Talk about your mind numbed robots...how can you dems stay dems and even worse "Clintonites" with that kind of leadership? You have some gall to accuse us conservatives of being lemmings. Look in the mirror, get smart and come on over. We'll forgive you.

Re: I feel bad for Rush

I consider myself a republican because of my views. It has nothing to do with politicans or the media.

I have certain beliefs and I stand by them. If I think something is right or wrong morally no media is going to convince me other wise.

Personaly I think that MOST politicans and radio hosts are scumbags and would sell there soul for a vote or higher ratings But Hey that's just my opinon.

oh yeah Good Morning Odd Job :D

What cracks me up is every party thinks they are right about EVERYTHING and that they have all the answers, well guess what you don't. ;)

When I was young my father told me to never trust a man that doesn't know how to say "I DON'T KNOW"

And that is why I can't stand most politicans because there the ultimate used car salesman. As long as your going to buy a car from them they will tell you whatever you want to hear. But as soon as you drive off the lot, they could care less about you.

I mean come on, if by saying "come over to are side" thrown along with a few insults about an ex president on a boating BB is realy going to convince someone to become a republican; Do you realy want that person on your side?

So I guess my final thought is Stand by your morals.... Don't let the stupidy of a politican or a fat radio host change them. ;) :)

Re: I feel bad for Rush

Andy, from what I've read of yours, you're all about insults, so why cry about it when you get some of same. Actually, it wasn't that insulting, just making a point. If people are going to pidgeonhole Rush listeners or any other listeners as mindless idiots , it's my duty show said people their hypocritical reflection in the mirror. You dont have to be a ditto head to listen to Rush. You have to like hearing political discussion and it helps if your core belief is that the world doesn't owe you a living. Isn't that the fundamental difference between those that like what Rush has to say and those that don't? Is that why we're stupid, because we don't believe in the entitlement mentality? Why dont we move past the "Rush listeners are stupid" rant and debate that core difference?
