wow! after many posts and a lot of tinkering i have finally figured out why my 62' johnson seahorse rk24 will not turn over. i was convinced it was the wiring or solenoid but i finally got it!
under the flywheel is a little red colored box with a white button sticking out of it. there's also this brass colored thing that rotates back and forth. it has to rotate clockwise to push that little button down, (safety switch?). for some reason it's rotated forward not even touching that white button. i can move it back by hand and the boat will start right up! but how do i get the dang thing to stay there? i noticed two wires coming off it, (by the way this boat has the elctramatic shifter), but i don't know where those wires go...not sure if this will lead me to what i need to fix or not
so i'm putting it out there one more time....any suggestions?
