That site doesn't say that it's a copy of an American missile. It says it's from a missile developed by Israel in the mid 80's.

Second try. I'll say it again. Israel TRADED MISSLE TECHNOLOGY with China behind our back. The purpose was to keep the Chinese out of the Middle East conflict. It worked. The only problem is, they are doing it at our expense. As you may know, China is a rising Super Power. They are the raging bull. As a contender to the throne, we, them are on a coalition course. In the Animal Kingdom, no two dominate Bull will ever share the same environment. Planet Earth is a close environment. can you guess what will happen to the losers in this conflict? I'm off coarse here but thought you should see the BIG picture. Need I draw you another one? Perhaps in different color? How about with one of those "Etch a Sketch" thing that you brought to school in 4th grade for "show and tell".

Is it any wonder that the world is in the state it is in, Now I know where the expression fuzzy logic comes from. Speech is spelled correctly in the subject of Daves' post but incorrectly in 12feetz link. Computer logic is supposed to be absolute. One keystroke out of place and it doesn't work. Apply fuzzy logic and you may get half a dozen or more different solutions. When a mistake is made with a computer it takes a human mind to fix it. 8) If it isn't fixed - what is the expression? Garbage in Garbage out. :^ := := := := ?? ?

I am not bashing Israel, far from it. but something must be done to diffuse a situation the west, mostly the UK created in 1945-48.
the US has had 6 decades of failed policy in that area. I dont know the answer but staying the course is gonna pile us up on the rocks, its done a few other empires over the centuries.

After looking closely at the photo of the Chinese fighter, it has the swept rear fins of the PL-8 not the straight ones of a PL-2.

So, it's a Chinese, license built copy of the Israeli Python-3. But the original comment was that it was an American missile that Israel sold to China. The Python-3 is entirely an Isreali design.

Nothing about it being a Sidewinder copy on FAS.org, israeli-weapons.com or wikipedia.org either.

The fas.org link is interesting. Their main page for the Python makes no reference to it being based on the Sidewinder. Neither do any of the other sites that I know of but, I can't say for sure. So I guess I'll just leave it.

I already acknowledged the Israeli arms sales and referenced a Reuters article. (Of course I can't find a link now. :$ )
Common dreams is about as objective a source as Newsmax. They may get the story right, but it's hard to justify them as an unbiased source. Here are some more credible sources that I could find.

When you find this on the front page... Well, I'll let you reach your own conclusions.

I don't believe that nations have friends, only common interest's. (USA/GB may be the exception) Of course, as their latest venture in Lebanon shows, Israel is not perfect and will sometimes "screw the pooch" and do things that will harm their interests in the long run.
Prediction: Israel's current goverment falls inside of 30 days due to public outrage over the way they handled the fight with Hezbola. Probably relaced by the Likud Party and Netanyahu.

As for Pat Robertson. Meehh! The guys a kook.
