Just sold my Renken 1880 1993 35th anniversary edition. Fine little center console, very solid hull. Looks like you will have an interesting winter. Keep the pictures coming!

Just wait till you see this boat when she hits the water again...I'll have boats miles away wondering why there are so many antenna's on such a small boat! lol...Listening to comms are still fun, I listen to mostly radar frequencies (Search/ID/Dissiminate). Thanks for serving in Hawaii, maybe I'll get a chance to get out there one day...​

My father-in-law is taking a look at the boat and is going to show me how to test the stringers...he's retired USCG...he should know alot about small boats...I tease him all the time about the Navy and USCG! I'm surprised he let me still get married to his daughter...lol.​

Hey what do you guys think about 2 stroke vs 4 stroke...do you think my 20ft boat will be big enough to hold a 140hp 4 stroke? I read that a 2 stroke is cheaper on repairs and is quicker on accelleration but you have to mix the fuel and oil...Also they are cheaper than 4 strokes...what do you think?​

I love my 2 stroke , it is a little bit of a pain to mix the oil but then i know its getting oil , I have heard some stories on the older 4 strokes , where the oil pump quits and 8 to 10 thousand to get it fixed !! If i were to buy a new motor I still think i would get a 2 stroke !! My 2 cents !! John

Just saw this thread from yesterday - you say you see where the HIN #
"was"?? They're stamped directly in the gelcoat - if there's nothing there, I wouldn't spend a dime on it till you get a CLEAR title to it. Honest folks don't grind out hull numbers, IMHO

I'll have to look a little closer for the HIN#...All I saw was where a small plate used to be on the STBD AFT portion of the boat...I currently looking into getting the title transfered over...I wouldn't think about putting a dime into it until it was in my name...I'd hate to put 10k into it and have the owner pop up and say there's my boat! Anyway I'm going through Florida to get the title...I have the registration number they should be able to get me a little more info on who owned it and what the HIN# is.​
