Has anyone done a transom repair to a i/o Bayliner? I've gotten some advice on a the Bayliner sight, but wanted to ask here also.
If so, do you have any pix that you can post?
I have an '85 Bayliner 1950 w/ a Volvo Penta i/o. The last time we took it out I noticed water entering the bilge (normally dry). So the next morning on closer inspection I noticed one of the lower bolts that hold the transom mounting bracket on was starting to pull thru. After tapping around on the transom, it seems to have about a 1 foot section of rotten wood in there. Not really looking forward to digging into it (have already replaced the floor), but its not worth anything the way it sits. Thanks for the help.
