Re: iboat flag

I don't think iboats has a flag. I just checked and I see no flags. Look here: http://www.cafepress.com/iboats/

I thought about that this weekend when out on my boat with my CSR flag flying, need to get one for the iboats gathering in May in Fl.

Re: iboat flag

something durable, cloth, nylon,or a poly, less than twenty bucks total, including shipping, or even a freebie with a large enough order would do the trick.
would be nice, you see a flag, and hale a hello, maybe it could have a spot to put your dsc number.

Re: iboat flag

I'll add this- if an iboats flag is created it should be constructed so it reads properly on both sides.
My Boat/US flag is thin nylon, printed on one side and looks stupid from the "other" side.

Instead of a flag, how 'bout an iboats burgee?
What are Burgees?
Almost every Yacht Club has a unique Burgee, usually triangular in shape, that identifies their member's boats. There's a lot written about etiquette on how to fly your Burgee depending on vessel type. Modern sailing vessels fly the Burgee from a lanyard under the starboard spreader on the mast, while older sailing vessels fly the burgee from the main masthead. Power boats fly the Burgee off a short staff on the bow. Yachtees love "Opening Day" when they get to parade their yachts and fly their Burgees

I must have a burgee staff on my starboard rail, I was going to order one of those other, flags, but will pass thanks for the description, and since they sent me to seatow, i have not need for a membership either.

Re: iboat flag

Unless they can get a real good price it is going to be more than $20 for a good one. I have a CSR Burgee (SeaRay board that I am a member of) that was about $35 and the second batch they had made up I think was higher, different vendor since the original vendor could not deliver as promised. I would buy one.

Thought I'd resurrect this old thread.
Would you guys buy an iboats burgee or flag to show your support? I would.
Comments, please!

I think you'll have a better chance at seeing God first. :D

It took almost 2 yrs to get the iboats calendar off the ground.

Yes, I'd buy one. :)

If it costs more to produce than the revenue it returns to the business, go figure.

Re: iboat flag

I didn't expect all the negativism but OK I get it- producing something like this would involve an expenditure on iboats behalf.
BUT (just thinking here) would it be considered viable if we could get a significant number of pre-orders?
Seems to me that there might be enough interest here to have something mocked up and priced for possible production.
It sure would be nice to spread the word by flying the iboats 'colors'.

If I remember correctly the calander wasn't to successfull and for the flag to be a offer to members maybe I-Boats should put a spin on it so it benifits I-Boats like a purchase amount or purchase frequency I know I would like to wave the I-Boat colors when I'm out plus it would encourage me to use the I-Boats store more offten.

I'd display an iBoats burgee with my CSR burgee. Sounds like cheap advertising to me.

How about an iBoats flag with your screen name printed on it? This way everyone could put a face/boat with the name.
