Re: iboats' one-time SS prop sale - Huge Savings!

Well, iboats.com is FULL of advertising where they are benefiting from. As an owner of SEVERAL websites, I have an explaination..

What the forums does (from a marketing perspective)

1. Keeps you on the site, the more you are looking around, the more of a chance you will buy something.

2. Get your target market EXACTLY on the head.

3. Be able to discuss problems, issues, comments or whatever fellow boaters have(target audience)

Now from a website owner's perspective...

You have the right to do whatever you want to the site. You want to plaster spam on something all over the site, you can.

Now, on the same note, you should follow your own rules. You say, " No For Sale items in any forum EXCEPT the For Sale/Trade Only forums" You better follow those otherwise you will get chewed out like in this thread.

Its called Net etiquette.

I am not going to take either side, but Admin5 did plaster in almost every forum about this deal. That's a NO-NO.

my $.02

2K Boat,I harbor no hard feelings but rather view this particular situation from a different perspective. We're all adults here and I'm quite sure that we can put this small difference of opinion behind us and carry on.Happy motoring this spring. :)

man, i'm torn. at first i thought this guy was an idiot, but then horndog piped in with a great post that sort of swayed me. iboats can do whatver they want, sure. but it makes sense for them to follow their own rules, if only to keep people happy and coming back. advertising sucks in any form. i'm here, plan to stay, and love the site. but i also understand that this great, free forum probably benefits iboats more than us. i'm sure they're doing just fine.

iboats- don't change a thing. we like it here.

The question is: Are they good props?

The price seems great, this should be the discussion. If you want to fight about advertising. post a new topic.

My father purchased a new Yamaha 115 and it came with a Ballistic prop. The prop does a great job! Good hole shot...good top end...no cavitation...no vibration...even provides good bow lift. It is on an 18'3" Express bass boat. It may not be the best prop for all applications but it sure works well on his boat. ;)

Im gonna try my best to put this to rest.

iBoats owns this board, they provide it free for us to use. They can do whatever they want,READ THE USER AGREEMENT.

This is not a big deal, why are so many making that way? Naturally when you have this many people, there are going to be differences in opinion on these types of subjects, but keep it to yourself, or post it in the NTDWB's section.

Most of us are greatful for this board, some of are not. For those who are not LEAVE!

Also, which one of these props fit a 1978 Merc 115? I really like the way they look.

yeah, the application chart isn't that clear, not easy to find the prop for your application...

whats this rotation thing? RH/LH? don't all props spin the same way? I never paid any attention to the direction it turns

Howdy, Horndog.

Twin engine installations usually include one RH engine and one LH engine. The LH are often called counter-rotation engines.

That way all torque reactions cancel out.
