Re: Ignition Switch Wiring

When it doesn't start the prop is leaving a huge amount of gas/oil in it's wake. So it's gotta be getting some...

if you are seeing gas in the water i have to assume that at that time your motor is flooded. I mean, seeing some gas is ok, but a huge means that the gas is flowing but not burning. I would not say it is spark... If squeezing the bulb help then you have a fuel starvation problem.
Make a new post in the motor forum under your motor model. You can probably cut and paste your initial fuel question. Some of these problems are hard to tack from a distance, but we will get it somehow. You can post here the link to the new thread.

Re: Ignition Switch Wiring

Good morning,
can anyone out there help with the color codes for re-attaching the wires to a five-prong (Johnson ob) switch ... ?
Funny, the local Johnson dealer sells me a switch with only 4 prongs.
Are there diagrams to be had, (download on internet ?)

Much obliged to anyone who can extend some help. Someone broke into camp and took the only boat key ...

John, You will be better off starting your own thread with the appropriate title. Add what year is the Johnson ob. I dont have my book here at work and your motor might not be covered in my books.
I hate thieves!!!
good luck...
