Re: Ike report: LF and family are safe.
The eyewall is coming onshore now. We've started feeling really bad winds here as well. The trailer is shaking, power was out for a short time, is back on now. Mr. LF is sleeping right through it. :

We are halfway between Houston and Austin and feeling the outer edges of it.
My daughter in League City, just called me from her closet. The whole family and their friends are in her closet. Strobe lightening (tornados) in the area and the winds are 75 gusting to 90 right now. They are scared to death.
They called me to check the weather for the since they have been completely without power since 7 last night, they are boarded up and can't see out, all they can do is listen to the horrible sound of hurricane force winds, things hitting the house and noises they know are creating havoc outside.
We are okay for the moment guys. Emotionally, not okay. Worrying about our daughter and grandkiddos is overwhelming. The thought of going back to nothing is devestating, I have been sick to my stomach for two days. I did manage to get all the children and staff out yesterday morning to our evacuation shelter in Austin.
This is by far the hardest thing I've ever gone through. And, we're not alone, so many people have lost so much. I haven't heard any reports of loss of life but 40% of the island did not evacuate.
The toughest part of this has been waiting and wondering. We don't have access to a TV, I'm on my laptop with an aircard which I just got up and running last night.
Thank you for your thoughts everyone, it means bunches to us. Thanks for the call JB.
I just want this to end, so we know where to begin again.
