My bad. "Here Boat" is when you're at the dock with all your gear and your friends and ride are already on plane, because you took too damn long too pee. Thank Jeebus that's never happened to us, right?

That won't be a problem with this boat. I plan to drill a hole in the transom and stick one of those super long funnels through it.

my hole saws are worn out, so i just bought a "pee deck" off fleebay....some folks call them a teak swim platform, but we fisherfreeks know what it's really for:D

Yeah man, now I'm really thinking about this subject. In my 14-footer it's easy to just kneel on the seat and kinda lean over the side. The side walls in this boat are too high - you'd have to stand up on a box or something. And even then you'd have to get some good velocity going so you don't just pee all over the gunwale tops.

I spose you could do the five gallon bucket thing and then just tie a rope to it so you can haul it over the side for a good rinsing, but that's a little... crude?

What should I do?

Re: I'm an owner! 1975 Islander 22

whatever else you do, wear your life jacket and rig a safety rope, tied to something on the other end of the boat from you, that you hang onto with the other hand. seriously, i've read info somewhere on the # of people who fall overboard and drown while peeing and it's a good % of the drownings in the US each year....might also have something to do with what they had been drinking that made them have the need to pee, but.....

what i'm doing for when Mamacita comes on the starchief is the 5 gal bucket with toilet lid (cabela's or wherever), lined with a biodegradable/compostable kitchen trash bag (from your local Whole Paycheck or other health food store), which has a little of the used-newspaper catlitter ("Yesterday's News" is one brand) and a big rock in the bottom. out in the ocean, over the side it goes, since i'm usually fishing in at least 300' of water and well offshore. for inshore or lakes or any place where there are enviro issues, just take the bag home with you (in which case you could probably use cheaper non-biodegradable bags). if you get the right amount of cat litter in it, you shouldn't have any loose liquid sloshing around. still crude but lighter and a lot cheaper than a Thetford or similar portajohn and probably less nasty to clean up.

This thread just went from wonderful and informative to nasty and hilarious in no time flat! :D
Your Islander looks beautiful and your work is very good on it. Best of luck with the rest of the season!
Can't help with the latest issue as I'm still on a 14 footer myself. But I usually hop ashore and find a tree as I'm usually on a rather small lake. :)

Whoooo hooooo, now you've got something. A wake is a thing of beauty.

Got a solution to your "pee" situtation,

For guys, go to a medical supply store and get a pee jug for when your laid up in bed. It has a handle and a lid on it. You just go to the back of the boat or where ever and fill it up, then dump it overboard, rinse it out twice, put the lid on, then put it away. Never have a problem doing it this way on my boat.

For gals (LIQUID ONLY), 5 gallon bucket with prota dumper lid down in the cabin and a gallon zipper bag for tp (tp is hard to get out of a bucket when its wet). They go in and do there thing, bring the bucket out with them, dump liquid over the side, rinse it out twice and put it back.

Now as far as the #2 ive never had to deal with that on my boat and I dont want to. I guess they could jump in and be trolled around for a while. lol.

Nice wake! Are you out in the heat? I was stuck doing a u-joint on my Jeep. I had to stop working every 15 minutes to dry off.

You just gotta come along for the ride. The measure of success these last 462 days has been "the first time I get this thing up on a plane". That moment occurs at about :28. The reaction follows shortly.

Arising from the ashes and speeds out of the iboats drydock. Awsome, paparoof. Another example that you can't keep a tinny down. Congrats, buddy.

Great job pr. You worked hard on that amd it paid off. This is motivation to get back on the Offshore.

Yeah you can feel the speed can't ya? I have it stretched across two monitors on my desk at work.

That's pretty much what we'll be doing.

Yeah check out the sweaty shirt in the video! 100 degree heat + humidity + totally freaked out boat owner = buckets of sweat.

Oh Dear Lord That's Awesome.

Get up here and get in it!

(for the record folks, head_shot is one of my oldest and bestest buddies in the whole wide world - in fact he was best man at my wedding)

Thanks man - LOTS of hard work left to do still, but this is some serious motivation to keep at it.

Yeah, LOTS of power there. I had it up to 30 mph (GPS) and it wanted to go faster, but I have no gauges connected yet (tach, temp, oil pressure) so I don't wanna push it until I can see everything that's going on.

And it popped up on plane pretty much the instant I hit the throttle. :D

I just gotta say it again y'all - there is no way this project could have happened without my Starmada bretheren. You've all been here for me every step of the way, not just with the how-to info, but with the encouragement and motivation I needed too.

THANK YOU

no, PR, THANK YOU for all the inspiration that short video gave me on my seemingly-endless project

on #2, hanging over the transom at trolling speeds makes a good bidet :)
