Top of my list: "They say...."

Just who the heck are "they"? And why should I listen to 'them'?

It is what it is - Don't know why, but it just bugs me. Lack of a good explaination I think.....

That is only after we learn what the definition of 'is' is!:p

"reaching across the aisle" irks me for some reason....

I think the reason it irks you HA, is because what it really means is that I want to reach across the aisle to grab you by the throat to make you vote my way.:D

"That being said....." Just sounds very arrogant. Tells us more ol' wise one!....

I've never thought that at all. I have used that exact phrase, not to show superiority, but to contrast my prior statement.
Example, "Bravo 3s don't move slowly in forward gear, cost a lot more to buy, and the propsets are ridiculously expensive from Mercruiser. That being said, I wouldn't own a 25' cabin boat without one." No arrogance, just contradicting myself! ;)

Not so much a cliche, but a peeve of mine . Talking , writing, expressing somehow in the 1st, second and third person in either the same sentence or paragraph.

I really dislike____at the end of the day.

A Perfect Storm- used to relate anything that was a culmination of events.

C'mon Jay, cut them some slack.
I have no doubt that they would use that "paradigm shift" to "leverage synergies" so that all "stakeholders" could benefit "moving forward".
That has to be a good thing, right?

Here's one that will make you laugh. It is copied word for word, from the Wikipedia description, of the term "Tiger Team."

"Tiger team is a term often used to describe a specialized group tasked with testing the effectiveness of an organization's ability to protect its assets, by attempting to circumvent, defeat, or otherwise thwart that organization's internal and external security."

"Clearly" at the start of every sentence, a local radio show host ALWAYS over uses this word!

A popular one with management in the company I work for, "Step up to the plate!" As in, you need to go above and beyond. I want to hit somebody when I hear that. YOU step up to the &#@*$!$ plate!

I hate the way cliches make their rounds in the media. Whenever a clever catch phrase surfaces, it gets pounded into the ground till you can't hardly stand to hear it anymore.

Until you've had someone tell you they will "ping you" you have no idea how bad corporate speak has become.
