It's getting cold, picked up the pace
How our shoes make odd noises in this place
Our clothes are stained
We passed many cross-eyed people
We ask many questions, like children often do

Smite the saracens, ok?

The way I see it, everyone should believe in God. If you do and there isn't one - so what. But if you don't and there is...

Re: I'm sick of politics. Let's discuss religion.

When science comes to understand that time and space are equivalent and that light travels a curve (which becomes a circle. . .eventually infinity/eternity), as Einstein stated, they will make the next big step.

C squared, the speed of light squared, governs everything.

We have found the relationship between mass and energy, governed by C-squared.

When we have found the relationships of gravity and magnetism to mass and energy they will be governed by C-squared.

When we have discovered the predictability of chaos it will be governed by c-squared.

When we truly understand infinity/eternity we will understand that events that only have a trillion trillion to one chance of happening become certainty.

Scientists may someday put all this together in one law of everything.

Then we will know God.

God understands the concept of the square root of a negative number.

No one else need apply

Amen, bro.
My personal faith is that God is the "singularity", the lighter/creator of the firecracker that made the "big bang" go boom. The keeper of the universe, including all the "missing matter" scientists are currently pulling their hair out trying to locate and catalogue... The alpha and the omega.

If the whole Bible is tru than there are manny manny gods.

Read Genisis (cant tell you the exact verses because i dont have an english bibel.) sorry for my crappy transutation maby rolmops will help.

genesis 1

vrs 20 Duch bibel. And God said that the waters brought lots of living souls.

I tought only man had a soul.

vrs 26 and God sayd let US make make man a likenes of US.

I tought there was only one god

Genesis 6

vrs 1 And it happend as man on the earth multiplied and there doughters were born the SONS OF GOD seeing the doughters of man that thy were beautiful,

I thought there was only one son of god.

and so on.

Rol mops here are the duch verses maby you can tel the tru engish transulation.

I can go on for a bit but probebly the half transulated sentenses make no sens at all to you..

genesis 1

Sorry for the lots of unreadable text.

Now there you have a clear example of things getting lost in translation.
When I read these verses in the original Hebrew ,I read a very different thing.
Although literally the translation is correct, the meaning of the plural and singular is completely different in the different languages.(The King never says "I",he always says "We".
It would be best to just read the text that comes with the chapters,as translated in the King James version,Which is fairly close to the original.
Anyway, here is a translation of the original Hebrew.

Genesis,chapter1:20
G-d said, let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures.
Your translation mentions a multitude of living souls.
Only a non Hebrew speaker could ever interpret the literal Hebrew into the Dutch that you read in your bible.
Genesis,chapter 1:26
And G-d said,"Let us make man in our image and after our likeness"
This is not the commoners us and ours.It is the Royal form of speech.
Genesis,chapter 6:1
When men began to increase on earth and daughters were born born to them, the divine beings(used to differentiate between common men and Adam's line) saw how beautiful the daughters of men were and took wifes from among those that pleased them.

Turin,I hope this helps.

When we have discovered the predictability of chaos it will be governed by c-squared.

But JB: Theory already has it that chaos is predictable, it begats more chaos. It is just as solid a theory as: E=MCxC, which is also a theory, (maybe one of the Master's better ones but: still a threory: JB); and as such subject to constant challange and potential revisions as with all theories, (including of course: chaos results in infinate chaos).

When we truly understand infinity/eternity we will understand that events that only have a trillion trillion to one chance of happening become certainty.

Scientists may someday put all this together in one law of everything.

Then we will know God.[/QUOTE]

At that particular point in our quest fer knowledge yer probably right: JB. We will have aquired the intelligance and perspective to know something more of God then we do now once we sort that REAL heavy stuff out, if we last long enough to do that. I still contend it takes far more faith to believe there is no God than to: #1 Accept the possability if yer an agnostic, (likely will not get ya to the pearly gates under the cornventional Christian position on this matter); or #2 Accept the Grace of God if yer a true believer. Once we prove God did the deal, (as those who really ponder this seriously deep stuff [the really BIG GUNS like: Einstein, Hubble, Planck et al] are almost all very religious and become much more that way the more they theorize and observe n' ponder our wonderfull existance). Heavy Post: JB yer a man with a surprizing depth of knowledge about a lot of interesting subjects. Respectfully JR
