i have brand loyalty but it mostly comes from the skill of the driver no offence to the op.
ive gotten into some pickles but never needed anything to pull me out.
just had a lot of practice in the bush with old trucks playing in the mud

Hook a dodge 4x4 to it, a hemi on idle will make the ground tremble enough to shake it free:happy:

By the way, these new hemi's are nothing, my first car was one of the Original 426 hemis, now that was a monster!

back to your rig.

How big of a tarp, or two can you get?

Dark could be much better than white.

Cover the truck, a sort of tent if possible.

Let the sun warm it every day.

Eventually the warmth will soak in enough to free the rig.

It won't be today.

Any diesel fired heater blown in would rapidly speed the process.

Actually, if our weather continues the way it has been the last couple of days, I will have it out and moving again, I can actually see ground under the truck, so it should not be much longer.

if you can see the ground under the truck you should be able to get it out
either that or you got it hung up on something like a stump

There is nothing broke, the last time I fired it up, all 4 wheels were moving, it was just high centered and the snow turned to concrete, I will get it out when the time is right.

Ouch

I like to check car-parts.com and check nationwide, often find what I want and the freight isn't bad. Near the bottom of the page it has the links to how many pages of matching parts, the highlighted number will be the lowest cost unit. Same item but far less than the first pages of listings.

Last time I broke a transfer case like that, I found one on Ebay, that had been rebuilt and had a nationwide warranty, it cost me about a hundred bucks and $20 to ship, it was still going strong when I sold the jeep.

Depends on what you are doing with it. If you want to drag race then I agree. If you want to pull your plow truck out of a ditch, I'd take the 5.7 in my Ram any day ;)
