Well, that darn truck is REALLY stuck, rigged several different ways today, and could not get the sucker to budge, I think I might have to wait until the snow melts, 12,500K winch, double 20K snatch blocks, two 3/4 ton trucks as anchors, so over 30K in actual pulling power, and it just laughed at me! Yikes, glad spring is almost here!

At least I have a new TV to watch Daytona on!

Oops, I mean my wife has a new TV to watch Daytona on!

Are you sure it was snow, and not freshly poured concrete?

Well after all of the freeze and thaw cycles since I got her stuck, it might as well be concrete, I am glad I have a snow blower and buddy's with bull dozers, the snow blower will keep the driveway clean and it might take the dozers to get it out! Really I think what happened, is, everytime I run the truck so I can turn the wheel, it has thawed the snow, which freezes back up and becomes pack ice, no big deal, Like I said spring is almost here and the days are getting longer and warmer, I'll get her out, or it will become a yard ornament!

Defenetly going to need a "pop" start to get it out, do you have a chunk of 1-2 inch synthetic rope?

rbh,

I have a 4 in 40K snatch strap, I have a 3 in 30k tree strap, I have a 12.5K winch, that sucker is stuck! Where you see the passenger side front wheel off the edge is about 100 feet down, and that is a lot of weight to pull over the "hump"

MT I think you missed the boat on this one, I think your truck is not stuck in snow its actually froze in now so your choices are dig it out or wait until spring, forcing it will likely only damage equipment.

So pick your poison, if it were me the first thing I would do is get a couple buddies shovels and long breaker bars, start the truck up first thing and just let her idle while you and your buddies are chipping away at it, get her moving before you hook the winch up to it and pull it out, close that hood while its running too force the heat to build up inside the hood and you will get some heat to radiate through the steel of the truck and hopefully help you break it loose.

Another thing to try is to single pull to the axles, not to pull the truck loose but only to break the grip the snow and ice has on the axles once they are loose winch on the frame of the truck.

One more thing, if you have a snatch strap and you have room pulling laterally can also loosen up the grip on the truck, again be careful how much force you use you don't want to break anything.

That truck isn't in that bad a situation, the problem is its now anchored, if you had the tools when you got it stuck it would have been an easy pull, but now you know, its nothing more then digging a rock out of clay now.

But in all seriousness, whats the hurry? at this rate your likely to buy a new house before you get that truck out ROFLMAO:lol::lol:

I'm young and don't have a lot of experience, but what if you jacked it up with a jack and then set the tires back down on some 2x6s or something?

Run some long screws or lag bolts through the 2x6's so they dig into the ground.

Do one tire at a time and properly support the jack so it doesn't shift or slide.

Then make paths under the tires with more 2x6s onto better ground.

??

I am thinking now would be the time to put a tarp over it and use a torpedo heater to melt the snow and ice.

Well at this point, I am going to let it sit until the ice/snow melts out from under it, that way I don't run the risk of ripping anything out, like brake lines, shift cables, etc.

Exactly!! Millions are spent every winter removing snow and ice that would be all gone by the 4th of July if we didn't spend a nickel :D

Its a Ford it will do it n/p. Now if it was a Dodge as the commercial on TV shows, a power wagon pulling a horse trailer , you would have to take the team out of the trailer and hook up then pull the pick up with trailer and the plow truck together.

Of course if the dummy in the Dodge knew how to put it in four wheel drive, the horses wouldn't have had to get their feet muddy. Also didn't look to me like big enough horses for that load. I could be wrong.

Hey, be nice, that guy in that TV spot is a friend of mine, only lives about 25 miles from me, he was more than willing to look like he didn't know what he was doing for what they paid him, I can tell you, it was way more than what I got paid last year!
