Inboard/Outboard Seacast - Worth it? Even possible?

Ok, so first off I love this forum. TONS of info...although I still have a specific question about repairing my transom.

I have an inner skin that is in good shape. Taking a look at the instructions for an outboard transom it makes sense. Ive read about the chainsaw and removing all wood and leftover oil...

I guess what I'm asking here is...is it possible to use seacast in my specific situation? Assuming I can cut the cap of the transom and figure a way to pour it in, along with trying somehow to preserve the cut-out. Duct tape?

Here are some pics.

Yes you can seacast it. Then glass over it. I've done bigger holes then yours with seacast.

Ok. Well. I'm not sure if I understand your reply. I'm not trying to fill the hole. And glass over what, exactly?

Anyone else care to chime in?

I think there are several threads about secast and an I/O. You have to make a mold that you can pour it into, and then remove the mold.

Yeah, after thinking about the limited acesss underneath that cap lip, I'll just be breaking out the cut off wheels and plywood. First boat, of course the transom is rotted.

By the way Frisco, both of the links in your signature point to the Sea Ray thread. Cool youtube videos too. Thanks for the reply.

Looks to be a three piece transom. All I had to do to mine was the center section. No need to remove cap.
