Re: Inboard vs. Outboard

From Kenmyfam:
Who says OB's are ugly??? Nothing like a boat with a smooth, sharp bow, then the graceful sweep of the windshield, then the big lump on the back! Makes me want to go tape a big cardboard box on the trunk of my Corvette!! :D

Haha Good One.

I agree with the other posts. I don't mind either but I think I/O look better.

Re: Inboard vs. Outboard

When you ride around on freshwater manmade lakes, you see lot's of I/Os. When you move to the ocean you see many more outboards and inboards and much fewer I/Os. Serious saltwater boats, for the most part below 26 feet, are outboards.

What do you classify as a "serious saltwater boat?" If you mean fishing boats (center consoles and w/a cuddys), you're right. If you mean cruisers, you're wrong.

Mid-20-foot cruisers do not come outboard-equipped. And many, including mine, are "serious saltwater boats". I'll match my Chris Craft's deep-v hull and seaworthiness against any other boat in its size class.

Not taking offense, btw, but I think your opinion is based on a faulty premise.

Mid-20-foot cruisers and "serious saltwater boats" in the same paragraph. Now that's an oxymoron :D

Sounds like people have pretty much covered the "pros & cons" of each...

So I'm left with saying "Outboards blow and I/O go!":D
