Re: Info on McCulloch
Had an old Scott Atwater once, 22hp. Had the fiberglas hood; late '50's or early '60's vintage. Used it in the Gulf of Mexico and don't remember how much post fishing trip washing I did.

But I sold the rig and later saw it with another engine. Found out later that the Scott had developed a leak from the water jacket to the cylinder combustion chamber. Guess it corroded through; but that's just a guess. I was not partisian to the activity that resulted in the engine swap.

We had a little 10 hp with Gold cover and dark green everything else; bailamatic and all backin the early-mid '50's. Never had any problems with it but it was just too small to push dad and me around in rented skiffs. Course at the time we were lucky to have that.

Never forget. In the morning the bay was quiet. You'd go out to fish. By afternoon, the wind was always blowing 25 or so. So with tiller steering, you got sopping wet and the hand that wasn't on the tiller handle was helping the bailamatic bail out the water that splashed in.

Mark
