Again this year I cleaned out and refilled my watertanks, only to find that when I open the hot water tap in the galley, nothing comes out, and the pump does NOT even run. The cold works no problem. I tried the hot water shower on the transom though, and it worked fine. So I then emptied and refilled the tanks again with no luck. So I started disconnecting the hoses, and connected the galley hose directly to the hot water source, no luck, then connected it directly to the pump, and I managed to get "some" water flow, but still not at full pressure. So next I made sure the galley hose was empty all the way through, and up to the bathroom as well since it's on the same line. This time with the galley hose still connected directly to the pump, I got water with full pressure, so I reconnected all the hoses properly, and everything was still perect.
So my question is........what's happening to the one line from the hot water tank to the galley tap that's causing this problem. Even though I've fixed it, I don't know what I really did to fix it
Also, I've discovered that my water pump runs quickly about every ten minutes, and I've traced the problem to between the tank and pump, so I believe that would be a backpressure problem with the pump. Can the pump itself be fixed, or do I need to get a new one?
thanks for any input
