Re: is 60s a ok temperture to go boating?
man, all ya die hard boaters made me feel bad... so i had to go out yesterday. mid fifties... was just fine. especially when the sun came out. after it was evident that the sun was gonna be gone, i put my aft curtain up. then i was for sure fine.
actually were quite a few boats out. several sailors and fishermen. a few cruisers.. just busier than i thought i'd be...
I'd go as far to say the colder it is, the better performance you will enjoy.
i felt like i enjoyed that. top of wot for me is 4300, i was getting 4400...

she was running good...
do a google search of where your going to boat and locate all the marina's or services in the area and bring numbers with you and have them on hand if you don't have a marine radio, Be prepared.
good advise wb2. i'd not thought of having my main marina phone number on hand. it's now stored in my phone. i do have vhf, but not many others do, so the vhf is kinda a mute point in my case. also got a couple of friends numbers in my phone. they got boats, so they could come to my assistance too. one did last year too..
guess i'm on the extended season now. sat. night it got down to 30*F. felt good that i didn't believe the weather man who said the low was gonna be 35.. creaton.... i drained my block and manifold for that night...
had me several nights of 50* weather too these last few weekends. sleeping on board was just fine in that too w/full cover + a sleeping bag.. lowest low was 48*. had horrible condensation on the inside of the boat though....
cold weather boating can be fun. but i don't know about anything under 48 yet... may be calling it a season here.... not because of temps, but because the funds have run dry...
