Is a roller missing in this picture?

I have had this boat and trailer for yrs and yrs, and I can't recall if there were 6 rollers or 4. It rocks in the center where the beam is, and where the roller is missing. I bought enough rollers to replace all 6, but looking at it, I'm not sure there is suppose to be a roller there. Anyone know?

I'm going to guess and say there is only suppose to be 4 rollers, not 6. Reason for thinking is, that pin is a pivot point, just like the frame between the back 2, and the front 2.

I would say only four rollers.

I actually got some pens and make a mock up of the trailer then made a little boat out of cardboard and rolled it over a couple of times. With 6 pens, it didn't float over as well as it did with 4. If it didn't pivot, I think 6 rollers would have been okay. Thanks for your reply.

The bracket/mount in picture 1 looks to be all one piece. Yes, no? Looks like the piviot is between roller 2 and 3? Looks to be enough room between roller 1 and 2 to fit another roller to me. The empty shaft in the middle looks to be a rusted out roller axle shaft.

I do like those axle shafts with the grease fittings in them! My opinion is always the more rollers the better. Spread the weight!

Its actually 3 pieces. One where it pivots in the center on the frame and if you look real close you can see where it also pivots on the rusted out roller shafts (I'm replacing them too, but iboats where I ordered the shafts only had 3 at the time) I don't think there were ever rollers there, and I agree spread the weight out more but if I Put rollers where it pivots, wont it hinder the pivot?

Having a hard time seeing how it will piviot with the second axle shaft going all the way through both bracket frames. 2nd meaning the one with the roller on it.

I seen all that the 1st time you posted it. My question is by your picture with lines and arrow. Last picture.

You have 3 pieces. A center that mounts to the trailer and then hold the 2 roller brackets on either side of the center. In the picture you last posted it shows 3 axles (pins). The center one holds the two brackets together in place. That should piviot right. To the right of the center axle is another axle that appears to pass through both brackets also. Is that true? If so how could the inside bracket piviot if there are 2 pins going through both brackets?

You can't see it in the other pics, but you can this one I just took. The first one is oblong-ed so the center pin can pivot a little.

Makes much more sense now! Still think you could add a 3rd roller and it wouldn't interfere with anything and add more support at the same time. Is that center piviot bolt the same diameter as the others? Either way. Cheers!

Yeah, same size, and after looking it over, and over... I'm going to go ahead and put the extra rollers in there. One in the middle for the front section, and one in the back. Thanks for your input. (I like the more support over larger area on the boat)

Can't hurt!

One for ya. The trailer I have now is for a 14 - 16' boat, bought used, yet when it was built they only used 1/2" roller axles for the 3 keel rollers. All 3 roller axles were bent. So over the winter my plan is to replace those with 5/8" ones with the grease fittings like you've got.
