Think of it this way. In most of the world your running over 150 kilometers per hour. Plus the $6800 will buy about 5000 liters of beer

How fast you want to go has allways been related to how much money you have to spend. Turning cash into loud noise (and hopefully speed) has been a hobby of many people over the ages. If 100 mph is your goal, then by all means gopherit!

You want to go about 5% faster. That means better than 10% more power. Probably 20% more power is a better guess. You might have 700 hp. and 140 more will cost you more than $6800 unless you are just going to add a nitrous oxide injection system. (You'd go through a lot of it)
I know drag engine owners that have spend $10,000 hoping to gain 100 hp and have gained 2 on dyno tests. How would you feel if you spent $6800 and did not go any faster?

You'd need 10.8% more power or a 10.8% reduction in drag or some combination of the two and then you'd likely need to make adjustments to the prop(s) to take advantage of the new power or reduced drag (unless the plan is to just run the motor(s) at a higher RPM. I'd love to know what the plan is for the $6800.

1) $6,800 is no guarantee you will go faster
2) Do what someone else said wait for a flat day and go by GPS speed.
3) Trailer your boat and rent a truck with enough HP to pull the boat and go 100mph (not recommended)

No, the $6800 isn't worth it. Nether was whatever you had to spend to get to 95.

Stop fretting and go buy a 25 mph tin fishing boat.

You can buy another boat that already goes 100 for under $6,800...

you can buy a used 19ft-21ft pickle fork / cat a STV, Eliminator and maybe an Allison mono hull that will all flirt with 100mph for $35,000 or less.

What about a trade? I'll give you 5 mph, leaving me with 40mph, and I'll only charge you $5 K.
(This is just stupid)

You're going to have to show me that one.

No problem. This one needs a few parts to finish, but it has a buy it now of $4,650. You could easily finish it up with the remaining $2,150 and run over 120 mph. :cool:e-bay link

The catfish would have a heck of a time trying to get that worm at 100 mph.

That would be fun. Not practical, but still fun.
