For 25 bucks you can get-er-done and might even have some change left over. Go to Krystals and buy a bag of doubles with cheese, stop by Walmart and get a couple boxes of ex-lax. Go 3 miles from your destination and eat the burgers chase it down with a big cup of lake water and munch on the ex-lax, Wait 20 minutes then start your engines. I guarantee that you can get the extra 5mps from methane.

Really?? How long did it take to come up with that response? Oh, Alabama!!! That explains it! Nuff said.

Fair enough, so what are you going to do? $2000 NOS?

A few parts swap, A part Mod, and little computer progamming ;)

I'm going nutz coming up with my decision.:(

Sounds to me like you're already there:D. So spending the money shouldn't be an issue, just do it and enjoy it.

I'm betting he doesn't have the $300... or anyone would would sit still long enough to take it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. You'd lose your bet by a long shot by the way :)

You're nutz for going 95. You'll qualify as stark, raving nutz if you spend $6800 to go 100 ...

95 in this boat is smoother than a 22 ft V-bottom doing 45mph.

No, the $6800 isn't worth it. Nether was whatever you had to spend to get to 95.

Stop fretting and go buy a 25 mph tin fishing boat.
Had a tin fishing boat then figured i'd rather spend the time with friends and girls then with another old man with a pole in my hand ;)

I say spend $13,600 and jump to 200 mph!

I WISH that was possible!!!

What about a trade? I'll give you 5 mph, leaving me with 40mph, and I'll only charge you $5 K.
(This is just stupid)
Bob, I still have 5 mph for sale. Free shipping. (This is still stupid)

Come on really?? At first I was insulted but then saw your from Canada :D

To squeeze another 5 out of an outboard on that boat will not be worth the money. For the same money you could get an older hydrostream hull and already have that speed w/o touching the motor. ......... and only using one of them ;)

If it was an I/O or a V drive I would consider it. Regardless if you have a warranty I would not want to grenade the motor. I am a believer that warranties are specific to parts that the manufacturer knows could go south.

Yup it was a shot over the bow but it got a response :D Not like the first question coupled with a Welcome in my post #5

Here is a link to a Cougar 21 MTR tunnel hull boat test http://www.aeromarineresearch.com/download/cougar.pdf It makes for some interesting reading regarding the hull's performance.

Okay who set up your props? You might be near there with proper blueprinting of the props. Are you running hydromotive props?

Re: Is it worth 6800.00 to pick up 5 mph??

ok.......ill bite........

at first i thought the 6800 was for a blower on a flat bottom with a big chev stickin out of it.......

but if you are running a 30 ish triple step fountain or formula type hull........what is the 68 for?

at your speed.....5 mph is a ton......you really have to pour on the power to get that extra 5mph......were you going to nos the motors and re pitch the props?....if you do that....it would only be a once in a while thing....as you would be over propped for regular boating. and need to re prop after each poker run.

but....i will tell you this......our guys in the prop forum are really good..... they might buy you an extra one or two mph.

but as far as your over all question......
when you are running that much money in a go fast......yes....the 68 is worth it.

Props are cleavers so they can't be worked. We did alot of prop testing. The Hydromotives provided too much stern lift and the boat felt too loose at speed. I'd probably need another set after the mods ....so there is more coin there to consider but hey it's only money and you can't take it with you.

Pontoon.....I'll give you the first semi-serious answer here.

If you've got the cash....then OF COURSE IT IS

I don't have a boat that runs 95 or even close to it....but if I did I'd want 100.....just as if my boat went 45, I'd want 50.....if it went 60, I'd want 65. Do you need it....of course not, what's the difference, and unless someone is riding with you (and carrying a GPS) they wouldn't know if you're doing 95 or 100 anyway...BUT YOU WOULD!!!

Again, if you can afford it...do it....it's one of those magical numbers....like when you first got your first job that paid $10/hour.....or getting 100% on a college final. There's always something to reach for....and 100MPH is it. Go for it.

It's broad cause we boat all over. Trailing most weekends NC, Tenn, Missouri, NY, GA, FL, MD.
Just asking because there's a few of us here with places at LOTO which is a "go fast" lake.

Your probably allready wearing a pfd I hope. There are some videos on utube showing how quick a fast boat can close to kill someone at speeds a lot less than 100.Be careful.
