The real problem here is that whole communities are going NON-ENGLSH instead of little Havana we have little El Salvador

This really makes it a nightmare for the public education system parent teacher conferences now require a translator

I see it as a big problem.Actually, it's not just a big problem it is rediculous. I thought that people had to at least learn English to complete the citizenship process.

First off this is by no means an endorsement of the uncontrolled flow of illegals, (and the associated issues they bring) into this country, just a look back at past happenings.

A personal look at the the taking over of America.

Three generations ago my relatives immigrated to this country. My grandparents, first generation Americans raised 18 children. The spoken language at "The home place" was that of their parent’s home land. Though my grand parents spoke English, their children were raised on German, and spoke English only at school or when away from home. The family was raised on the “Old Country" values and beliefs. That being with hard work and some education a good life can be made here. Their children went on to marry and produce one hundred and twenty plus grandchildren, (my generation). We were all raised in English speaking homes with all the American trappings from the mid 40's thru the early 70's. Very few of my generation speak any language other than the Kings English. And though our parents attempted to pass on the same core values as their parents, our values became a little more American just as theirs had the generation before. My parents realized as did my grand parents, in order to do more than just survive in this country you need to become part of it. If you wish to flourish here you have to learn to speak the language, learn a trade, get an education. First generation immigrants are just that first generation. They came here for the same reasons my relatives did, opportunity. The driving force behind the change as I see it is a child’s need to fit in, and be the same. No one wants to feel like an outsider, to be different.

From my front seat view 15 years ago the first generation was learning English. Then as the flood gates opened up it started going backwards

I work with people that spoke better English 15 years ago because they had to learn it to live NOW they don’t I can No longer have a conversation with the same person I could 15 years ago

There was no need to keep up there English skills so the did not

Yeah, and if you ask me it is definitely soft racism. I don't believe the left has a "let's make them dependent" conspiracy going on, but you can't be elite and free of guilt unless you a) find a victim and b) pretend to help them. It is only natural, but think about it . . . hmmmmm . . . " insert name of needy group here cannot be successful without my altruistic intervention". What they leave out is "like my great-grandparents were". That is so offensive when you think about it clearly.

That is the difference , their children, COULD speak english and did. These illegals don't WANT to speak english.

These illegals don't need to speak english. But by the time their children reach High School many will go on to be on the honor role.

Some will, not doubt, but how come so many school districts are having to make their teachers learn spanish to teach these leeches? They need to learn english, not make the teacher learn spanish or mexican or whatever.

It's not the language that Mexicans in south Texas speak that is of most concern to me as it is the separatism they teach to one another..Not to mention the increase in hispanic gang violence and crime.I almost feel like a stranger in my own hometown. I'm also beyond tired of having hispanic heritage and traditions crammed down my throat at seemingly every local public event.

And what's up with this parking vehicles in ones front yards.Can't speak for other locales ,but down here it seems to be a tradition.Our local city officials with respect to code enforcement have also failed miserably on this one.At one of our local high schools just last week 5 students ,that's right 5 were arrested for carrying loaded handguns to school.All five were local(hispanic) gang members.Even the pandering local media made very little light of this event.At the current rate of this country's hispanic growth,this same scenario is coming to a town near you soon if it's not already there.

I was watching a cable news program Wednesday evening when the speaker began talking about American death vs. replacement rates. He said that Americans are being born at a rate slower than the dying are being replaced. Therefore, the natural American population is declining.

On the other hand, there are certain groups amongst our population that are reproducing at a rate far exceeding replacement. Namely, Mexicans as well as other cultures and illegals.

By 2070(his numbers), Americans will be a minority in their own country, based on the replacement rates we are at presently at.

His complaint, Mexicans and other cultures are not teaching the "American" culture. They are teaching their native culture while dismissing America's.

His concern, "American culture" will be and is being lost forever to the other cultures coming into the USA unless something changes quickly. His suggestion, increase American reproduction.

YUP Already here.
I could name 20-30 restaurants and twice as many stores where if you don't speak Spanish you are looked down on.
Multiply by the hundreds for Asians. (And they all hate each other except in (America where they stick together)

Well, limited time kin folks had to learn English because THEY HAD TOO! Period. There were no signages, no legal forms, in any other language, there were no press 1 for espanol or press 2 for english. Everything was in in English, the country as a whole just got so doggone liberal. Don't get me wrong, being liberal is good but too liberal isn't good either. I wish in the early 90's someone would said enough of this nonsense and put a stop to it before it escalated into today FUBAR.
