I found the transfer wizard...
If I Unhook my cable modem, Do I plug the modem end of the cable into my old 'puter to transfer my old addressbook,+ settings to the new 'puter ????
I don't have a spare cable,+ there's only 1 10/100 port on each 'puter....
Will this Work ???????
Thanks...A simple cross-over Cat5 network cable between the 2 computers will allow you to transfer files back and forth with ease.....with WinXp it's easy.
Bondo, I will be using this one,
http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DI-704P-R
4 puters and a printer shared.Still have to find the Router, etc... Been looking at tigerdirect.com... Not Expensive... Looks Pretty Simple.....
Trick will be, Not having RoadRunner Charging me for 3 'puters on-line.....
Haven't decided What to do with the old 'puter after I recover the Needed Info from it.....
A KVM-switch (Keybord Video Mouse)is to connect two pc's to one set of keyboard, monitor and mouse. By hitting a button you switch from displaying/operating one or the other. Saves space, energy and money...
A good one is TRENDnets 200:K.Originally posted by Bondo:
BTW, What's a KVM switch ?????
