Bad news. I did a compression test at a marina, and the mechanic said that both the top and bottom cylinders were reading in the high 60s. They should be MUCH higher he said...
He said this was an indication that both pistons/rings are bad and it would require an engine rebuild...
So, my question is this: How hard is this to do? Is it worth a try? I really don't want to put another penny into this thing if I should be retiring it and parting it out.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
