I'm still not 100% on this. When I put it back together there was no spark on top cylinder, so I went back and reset the points although I didn't really see a change and moved the coils out a bit. I cranked it again and still no sparks, then bottom cylinder fired up and then a second later top cylinder started sparking.
It's running ok now without sneezing, but this cylinder going in and out problem is probably what has been plaguing me all this time when I complained about the boat going too slow, "hitting logs", and then one day it suddenly ran better which I thought was from the seafoam I added.
