Ive got a 1981 Johnson 90 on my Checkmate Enticer. I'm in the process of rebuilding the boat and Ive run into a small snag . The motor seems to be missing the cable retainer or retainers where the cables come into the motor housing. The original owner ( dad ) seems to have lost it and the cables are held in place with a couple of fender washers and 1/4" bolts. I'm assuming thats not how they are supposed to be retained. Does anyone have a pic of what the cable retainer looks like or is supposed to look like or better yet the OMC part numbers?

Thanks

You can check out the original factory exploded parts diagram from the Bombardier website: epc.brp.com.

That section does not have an exploded diagram or parts list.

Not sure why you can't get into the Bombardier webiste. Usually works fine. The parts you may need may be a metal clamp retainer, part number 323400. Bombardier has made that part a special order-they don't stock it, but you can order it. There are a few dealers around the US which still have new stock on that part. One of them is: VANS SPORT CENTER INC, 1855 ALPINE AVE NW, GRAND RAPIDS, MI., 49504-2872 Phone: (616) 364-0666. Also you would neerd the retainer screw: part number 323429 which supercedes to 328724 and is still in stock at Bombardier.
