Hello
I had a mechanic go through my boat this spring and lok over some stuff... get oit running well..
anyway-= he said that the alarm was faulty on it. ( and he said he disconnected it so it wouldn;t constantyly buzz as he worked.. but thta I shoudl replace it... ( he dind;t have one on hand to put in) (I had heard the alarm beep a bit last year so I suspected something was the matter.)
The engine does use oil from the reservoir as it should and the level goes down accordingly. The previous owner had just replaced the VRO pump so that is much newer than the motor. so I suspect that he is rigth that teh VRO is working as it should.. and is probbaly the alarm.
I understand that the tan wires coming from the block are the overheat part of the alarm. I see a couple wires coming out of the VRO that must be for teh low level and no-oil alarms( right?)
I don;t see anything disconnected...
My question might be a VERY stupid one-- but where is the actual alarm located? under the dash?
How can I troubleshoot to see if the alarm is indeed faulty? or if something else is really the matter.
I am reasonably handy and if given some direction I am pretty sure I could debug it...
i don't even mind going so far as disconnecting the VRO and running with premix -- but I want to keep the overheat alarm...
