Re: just a heads up...
It can be really deadly. Don't mess with it. There are instances of an infection from a scratch killing normal people.
I sawed a couple of fingers off about 20 years ago. I had to have them re-attached. They gave me IV antibiotics for a day, then pills for a couple of weeks. There was a little staff infection in the cuts that we got "under control" in a few days. Healing seemed normal, stainless nails were pulled, rehab, etc.
That was in October. I felt like chit all winter, and seemed depressed for no reason. Doc was about to send me to Mayo for a work up when I decided to start drinking hydrogen peroxide in March. After about 2 weeks, I all of a sudden had zits, boils, puss coming out of all openings. I had to shower 5 times a day just to keep the stink down. After a couple of days, I was fine. My body had just finally gotten strong enough to deal with the disease.
I have a strong immune system. Near as I can figure, I had one of the superbug staff infections, only sub clinical. It didn't even raise my white cell count much.
