Re: Just bought wondering if i should cut my looses
is it posible to let it dry out instead of replacing all the stringers and foam and such or will it sink?
Nope, it ain't gonna dry out.
Will it sink? Tough to say but the boat will be heavier and weaker.
My old 72 SeaSwirl had wet foam and stringers that were partially rotted. It still got me through some nasty conditions, it was one tough hull, could have failed though, how knows??? I ran it for 10 years and never had a problem, then went to repair the damage and it was too much for me to put into that old tri-hull.
It's really hard to tell if you will have problems because we don't know how much damage is under the deck,,, and you won't know until you do a core sample of the foam and check the stringers/transom. Proper way is to repair the damage before it gets worse,,, or it fails.
