I just got married last week and my Johnson's never worked better. However, I fear for the longterm safety of my outboards. It's obvious from this forum that "the wife" (or sometimes "the friend") are the root cause of many OMC outboard problems. "The owner" never makes these mistakes. Typical posts:

"My wife ran into a stump at WOT and now the lower unit..."
"My wife forgot to mix oil in the gas and now the powerhead won't..."
"My wife didn't put in the drain plug and now my boat and motor is under 10 feet of..."
"My wife backed the boat into the gas grill and the resulting flames engulfed..."
"My wife dropped a roller bearing from the pinion gear into the gearcase and now the..."

And on and on. What am I gonna do? Any preventive measures I can take?
