Nice work there. How old is the boat? How long have you been working on the restoration?

well I made the new hatch cover for my boat out of fiber glass today. the resin had a reaction with some household enamel paint I used to seal the mold with before apply the release agent so it needs a bit of a clean up and it's a tight fit which i will have to play with but other than that I now have a cover for my cabin. it could be a neater fit but after a clean up it should still look the part, I am pretty happy as it is the first real molded bit of fiber glass I have made other than a few little guard spats etc.

looks good nice job.i think it will clean up and look great when painted. how do you plan on securing it , hinged or lever locking clasps on each side. also love that boat design .

was going to get a hinge setup on it so it can flip 180 degrees that way I don't have to worry about someone opening it when under way and it flying off

well that was one weekends worth of work in between family and kids commitments. although it doesn't look like a lot I am just happy to have a hole in my roof finally covered properly :D

(hatch only for weekend work lmao)

that bracket on the side of opening was that for a arm type hatch holder to keep in open position. looks like you have a nice flush fit which is the most important part good looking cover and thats before paint

I think the bracket was just to lock it but I will be trying to find a setup to make it stay in the open position when needed. would be great on a hot day cruising a lake with fresh air in the cab
