JW-10 Seahorse: Spark Plug Lead Routing

This past weekend I got stranded on the lake due to a spark plug lead pulling off the coil (see: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=195224 )

...and I'm wondering if my spark plug leads aren't routed incorrectly, and thus getting more strain on them than they should. Anyone have pictures of the correct plug lead routing on a JW-10? The closest I've been able to find are at:

http://www.outboard-boat-motor-repa...on 3 HP 1952-1967 Ignition System Tune-up.htm

...and that definitely has very different plug lead routing than it currently is on my motor, but that motor is also ten years newer...

Best I can do is, I believe the forward coil supplies the upper cylinder and rear coil is botton cylinder. If you look at the bottom of the stator plate I think you will see a recess where the wire goes. Also should be a clamp and bolt to hold the lead in place.I can't be sure but it appears the leads go down the port side of the smaller motors.Difficult to tell but it appears the wires exit the stator plate together near the front held by a clamp (plate) and screw. Hope I haven't confused things.

On mine the lead goes through the stator plate right where it connects to the coil. From there the leads are loose (no clamp of any sort) with the rear going to the bottom cylinder along the starboard side and the front going to the top cylinder along the port side. Definitely nothing like the routing you're describing (which matches the pictures at: http://www.outboard-boat-motor-repa...twin Outboard Boat Motor/images/3012 pg12.jpg)

I suspect that a clamp SHOULD exist, because without it this has to be one of the stupider designs I've ever seen... and I'm an engineer.

the wire goes thur the bottom on the timer plate, directly at the coil connection, the wires run between the timer plate, and a cover protection plate exiting the port rear side under the timer plate, when the plate is in idle postition, should also be a clamp there, then down the port side of the motor, to the stearn, to the plugs. did that make sense.

Wonderful... EXACTlY what I needed. My leads are routed completely incorrectly, and I would never have had the problem I did if they had been routed correctly... now I just need to see how many parts I'm missing in trying to get them routed right.
