Hello,

After cruising, when engine go to idle, the engine often stops. The idle speed is 850 without load, and 650 in gear. When I put the engine from gear to free, the kill switch works, but it seems to close to long. Is that possible? And is it adjustable? Or can a bad lower shift cable cause the problem? Out off the lower shift cable I found a drip of water.

lower shift cable is an adjust often and replace every 10-15 year thing. start with adjustment, if that doesnt work, replace.

the drip from the lower shift cable is probably the shift bellows is shot.

when was the last time the bellows were inspected?

Thanks Scott,

Belows changed 3 years ago. Boat shifts good from
forward to backwards, what should I change the adjustment? Is it to explain, or should
i just try something?

Open the manual or follow the stickies on adjusting the lower shift cable and shift interupt switch

Have you been pulling the drive every year for bellows inspection, u-joint inspection, gimbal inspection, alignment check, and spline greasing? If not, pull the drive and inspect the bellows. You shouldmt have a drip
