Second annual Lake of the Ozarks Dam-Dam run will be held 21-22 May 2011.

All forms of watercraft are welcome and there is no entry fee (FREE).

For those who may not know, it is 92 miles from Bagnell Dam to Truman Dam through some beautiful scenery with some very interesting local "color" stops along the way. The plan is to start at Bagnell at 8am on the 21st and wind up at Truman Dam that afternoon (with 3-4 scheduled stops for sustenance and libations). We will overnight in Warsaw, MO (near Truman) and run back to Bagnell on the 22nd with a few stops lined up on the way back down the mile marker numbers.

Some will join up along the way, some will make more stops than others, some may not overnight....no rules here and that's what made it so much fun last year. Just a fun group of boaters enjoying some of the best boating in the midwest. We have a very eclectic group of boats (and people) confirmed already.....from pontoons to runabouts to cruisers to former race boats....and everything in between. Last year was a blast, and this year looks to be even better.

If you think this is something you may be interested in, please post on this thread or email me at raymond.emils at yahoo and we'll add you to the list.

"Color" stops. lol
I pulled up you're thread in the other place. I like how you've tailored the message to the audience.:D

I don't know if I'm going to be up there that early yet. I sounds fun, even if it may get a little rough for the deck. Looking forward to that lake color, though.

As of this morning, about 70 people and 28 boats. It'll be like herding cats. LOL

We had roughly half that many last year but we didn't publicize it much and the weather wasn't exactly cooperative. This is a week before memorial day weekend so if we get lucky we'll get good weather AND smooth water.

Colorful. How else would you describe places like Possum Holler or Buck Naked? LOL

I wouldn't worry about it being rough. It smooths out a lot up past the hurricane deck bridge, and early in the morning there isn't much boat traffic anyway. Last year I ran from the 60mm all the way back to Bagnell with wifey asleep in the cuddy....was like glass. You'll be fine with your deck boat.

There's nothing formal about this run.....

We will be overnighting in Warsaw. The harbor has some docks (more planned....we'll see how that pans out) so we'll leave the boats there. The docks are right in front of the police station and they have assured us our toys will be safe. The area along the waterfront has several bars and restaurants to keep everyone occupied (shopping too), no hotels on the water but a couple are a short ($5) taxi ride away. I suspect about half the crew will overnight.

Last year we stayed at one of the on-water resorts, but none of them are big enough to accomodate the crowd this time so we're staying in the "city".

Sounds like a great time. Is there room for 28 boats on that dock (if they don't expand before the run)?

We'll need to do some rafting up but yea, they'll fit. There are actually 2 docks; one is connected to the courtesy dock at the boat ramp, the other one is across the cove. Between the 2 we'll make everything fit. It's calm/protected water there so we'll be fine. I doubt all 28 (or whatever it turns out to be) will stay anyway; Last year we had 13 boats on the run and 7 or 8 stayed overnight, the rest ran back down the lake that day.

This is a "must do" event Matt. You need to come and drag Josh up here with you. Can't be more than a 5 hour tow from your house, and you won't see water that calm at LOTO during the summer.

Some (most?) aren't running all the way from Bagnell dam. Miller's Landing at the 28mm is hosting us for breakfast (again) so that'll be the first meeting point. I think there's only 4 or 5 of us running all the way from the 0mm.

Yeah... its about 5 hours or so from here, which isn't a bad drive. I'll probably start at the 0mm if we come (just so I can say that we ran dam to dam). I need to talk to Josh about it and see what his plans are. Has Mike said anything about coming?

He hasn't said one way or another as far as I know.

There's an event page on Facebook: Lake of the Ozarks Dam to Dam 2011 (v2.0) Sign up when you make a decision or let me know and I'll add you to the list. The folks in Warsaw were VERY happy to hear how many of us are headed that way....will be a good time for sure.

Will do! I think Mike B sent me the FB invite. I'll get an answer from Sarah soon and let you know. She's too busy celebrating her 30th birthday tonight to make a sober choice...lol

We have 36 boats "confirmed" at this point in time, so I'd book a room soon if you're planning on overnighting in Warsaw.

Warsaw lodging options are as follows:

Truman Lodge - $47.48 with tax. An older hotel, no indoor pool, but closer to the harbor where we'll be docking the boats and eating/drinking the night away. Family owned, nice people. This is where Natasha and I (and our guests) will be staying. 660-438-5106

Parkfield Inn - $83.33 with tax. The nicest hotel in Warsaw; indoor pool and "spa"....but it ain't no Hilton. They won't give us a group discount so $75 + tax is the same rate that everyone else pays on a Saturday night. 660-438-2474

There is taxi service to and from the hotels; cheap and no more than 5 minute ride or so.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks Dam to Dam Run

It looks like the lake has come up about 2' in the past week (57 up from 55). I think I even saw a Flood Warning for the Big Niangua area this morning on weather.com. My calls there today don't seem to support that.

I don't know if we'll be at the lake in time, but at least I'll have enough water in the cove to use the dock if we do make it up there.

I haven't seen any flooding, but the lake sure is up. This morning it was right at the edge of our rip rap which is 657+.

Come on up, will be a lot of fun. Shouldn't be too rough since it's before memorial day and we're running the busy part of the lake in the morning. We'll be starting at Bagnell at 0830 (the fireboat is the meeting point) but most will be starting at Miller's Landing at the 28mm.

We have our regatta permit, and the city of Warsaw assures us the docks will be in before the run. We'll see. Won't stop us either way.

We're 2MM BN so we're about the halfway point. Generally, if I can get the deckboat through "four corners" we're good to go. At 57' the dock is usable. I needed full pool to use the lift so I had Econo pull it last year.

If I come up that early, I'll be solo since the the teacher won't be done with the satan spawn yet.

I haven't seen anything to the contrary.
Here's a pretty good place to track events at LOTO.
Dam to Dam Run

The original poster was dealing with some medical issues and may not be frequenting this board.
I won't be down for the Dam to Dam run unless the wife banishes me to the lake...again.
Hmmm....let me see if I can make that happen.
