I just bought a senza 226 with a volvo 5.7 270hp. I'm looking to upgrade the performance. The obvious choice would be the prop as it still has the stock aluminum prop. Does anyone have any advice on what prop would provide the best all round performance and what speeds I might expect.

Are you able to post the boats current performance numbers...Aka speed at wot....rpm at wot along with the current pitch

Top speed is about 53 on speedo(not gps),rpm is 4800-5000,not sure of the pitch but it is a stock 3 blade aluminum. I'll see if I can find out. Thanks

was in the boat alone for the first time at wot the rpm's suddenly shot up to 6000 and then dropped to 5300. No loss in speed but almost seemed like something was slipping. WOT with 3 or 4 in boat usually remains under 5000.

Something of that nature could only becaused by mechanical decoupling...aka the outdrive or the prop from the hub...Hopefully it would be the prop hub..take a grease pen and create a line or mark on the inner prop hub and the lock down nut...If the line travles you have a spun hub..bad prop

Thanks, I'm going to buy a new prop anyways so we'll see. My current prop is a 3 blade aluminum 19 pitch...any suggestions on a good replacement for all round performance.
