Over the weekend I happened to be watching the Histroy Channel when they aired a documentary which was among the very last work done by Peter Jennings.

I expected another long series of interviews with people who all had different takes on who and why. What I saw was surprisingly different.

I have long believed that it was indeed a conspiracy, and that it was carried out over Vietnam, Cuba, monetary policy, or some such thing. This documentary, however, was very well done and gave very persuasive evidence and documentation that indicates the Warren Commission was correct in its conclusion.

The program gave the details of what made Oswald tick, and why he became an assassin. It proved that many of the so-called errors the Commission made were in fact not errors. It also pointed out the deceptions and twists that Oliver Stone incorporated into his movie about the assassination.

I think I now have to give up on that particular conspiracy theory. Interestingly enough, seeing this and being convinced seemed to lift a certain amount of weight from my shoulders...I feel liberated.

And now I see with stunning clarity that the real conspiracy is the intent of a few to totally undermine our belief in and support of our institutions and traditions---whilst they tell us that our institutions are out to deceive us.

Ain't that somethin'?!?
