Last summer I bought a pontoon and quickly decided it needed a bigger motor. Soon after, i bought a 1989 Force 50 HP from a liar in MN. The motor was said to have a new water pump and be completly ready to go....Not true at all. This thing leaks water bad. After i quickly realized that it leaked water I pulled the head and water jackets off of the motor. THe motor had been apart and when it was put back together, it definatly had the original gaskets put back on. Luckily that was late in the year so the pontoon was parked for winter. Now, in the anticipation of spring and warmer weather (-15 this AM) I am getting ready to completly tear down the motor and clean/replace and repair everything needed. I have a Clymer manual and should be receiving a Force TSM tomorrow. Is there anything with these motors i should take particular care or specifically look for when tearing it apart?
Thanks.
