Re: Learned something shocking about my kids healthcare
Your feelings are entirely understandable. I feel the same way sometimes. Its really frustrating to have some stranger tell you how things are going to be when it comes to your child.
I think you are also right, in that the majority of parents do a pretty good job when it comes to these sorts of things, but not all do. There seems to be at this point, a couple of generations of parents that have no clue what-so-ever. Just today in my area, witnesses saw a woman dump something into the water from a plastic bag, at one of our parks. They investigated after she left and the "object" turned out to be a newborn child, who was dead. About a month ago, we had a case of a young father who slit his three year old son's throat because he didn't want to pay child support. I am still reeling from that one, because it was reported that when the guy picked his son up at the momma's house, the little boy cried out, "DADDY!" All I can think about is that image, followed by the bewildered look and sense of betrayal that this child felt, in the last seconds of his life.
Our laws in this regard are imperfect, but they are not without some reason for existing.
