Evinrude E175FPXSSR
Have a overheat on a customers motor and I`m not that familiar with these.
changed wp kit, no damage seen
changed thermoststs ,no change
ran with thermostats removed, no change
dropped lower unit and put hose directly to the water inlet tube.
No change to the overheating at 1000 -1200 rpm. very good water out the tell-tale hole with muffs or direct to the water tube.head temp climbs steadily to 200 deg.within 3 minutes
Removed port head, no clog/corrosion found. Of course 1 sheard bolt
Stumped??????????
links to service manual by private message appreciated

Suspecting a crushed water inlet tube due to very little water coming down with the exaust.
Does the water tube simply pull down and out or is powerhead removal required
Thanks for any help

Any possibility it's not overheating and just the sender/gauge?

Does it have a poppet valve? How is it running? Lean condition? Idle jet clogged? On OMC I'd take off the exhaust cover and look for blockages there. Doesn't water get to heads through passages in exhaust cover?

pyro shows it climbing right to 212 alarm setting . definitely hot.
with stats removed and water connected directly to the water inlet tube

thought I`d drop and update on the motor. Have come to find out there are 3 thermostats on this motor. Finally got a pic from both crowley and another site and the hose config shows a thermostat just before the pressure relief valving Its number 33 in the diagrams. the same one used in the heads of the motor
