I recently installed what is a called a Heavy Duty Water Pump Kit, F5H074 on my 1974 Chrysler 135hp outboard. The standard kit is a FK1033-1. The Heavy Duty housing is 2 parts instead of one and made out of some kind of alloy that looks like a combination of copper and stainless steel. The impeller is 3/4" tall with 5 splines. The water outlet seal is white plastic instead of rubber. All of these improvements could be seen by a very strong stream (even on muffs) at the tell tail. So far I cam very happy. Water temps on any area of the head was 136-140 degrees. After 6 days straight of running the engine in salt water the over temp alarm never came on even with a lot of trolling. It was worth the $100.
