Not around here :( Our wally world has 3 hour parking.
after complaint from our local koa wallyworld was going to do the same thing but that lasted about 1 night, lol.our wallyworld closes at night so they probably like the added free security.

Re: Live in boat at RV park.

Thats strange I thought all Walmarts allowed RVs and big rigs over night. I work next to Wallyworld and every single day there are trucks and RVs in the lot. There is one outside my door right now.

They started banning (and enforcing) overnight parking at the walmarts here in the bakken oil patch. There was no room to park for shoppers, and people tended to use the parking lot as their person garbage dump/outhouse.

Ah yep I would stop that fast. Doesn't happen here. Lot looks the way it was everyday.

Yeah, there'll be no RV parking at the China Mart(s) 'round here. They ain't havin' none of that.

Fwiw my family camped in the boat on the trailer many times when I was a kid. As others have suggested: Just clear it with the campground first?

Re: Live in boat at RV park.

Thanks everyone, we want to have power hook-up so no wally-mart, but I see the RVers here all the time. We already called the RV park they said it would be fine. It is on the Lake (Lake Havasu) But my wife can't sleep on the boat she gets seasick, so she wants a hotel for the night, but this may be cheaper and a good story to tell..hehe. I just wanted to see if anyone else had ever done it and if so what problems we might have. The big one I see is getting in and out, but we have an extended ladder.
Do not use the ladder to your swim platform for getting in and out of the boat on land. You will break it and maybe break your rear end to. :)

Junk-Shop World stopped the truckers here a while ago. Now they limit the number of RVs. I don't go in those places and would find a place to park with a better cliental.

Hmm, I think I might just pull into a rest stop and park by the big rigs. Best price of all is free.

Might want to reconsider the rest stop theory....

?A Kentucky man was found murdered Jan. 4 at the Alligator Alley rest area near mile marker 40, on the western edge of Broward. Sheriff's investigators say the man was killed during a botched cocaine sale. ?One man stabbed another during an argument at an I-95 rest stop in St. Lucie County in September 2006. The wounded man survived. Other cases from across the country include the January 2005 death of an Ocala man, 70, who suffered a fatal heart attack immediately after a robbery attempt at an I-95 rest stop in Florence, S.C.
. In May 2003, someone beat a Pensacola woman inside a rest stop bathroom along Interstate 65, near Montgomery, Ala., leaving her critically injured.
Six months earlier, authorities discovered a woman's head floating in the water near a boat ramp at the rest area near mile marker 35 and eventually arrested two New York men in her killing.
More commonly, authorities find stolen vehicles and fugitives at rest stops.

The potential dangers at the stopovers are enough for some travel experts to recommend an alternative for road trippers who need a nap: campgrounds.

"The safety in campgrounds is just not an issue," said Lance Wilson, executive director of the Florida RV Trade Association.

Just sayin'

With all due respect SA. Those stories are 10, goin' on 11 yrs old. FL has had security at rest stops for years now.

Yes we had a problem, but it's been addressed. Frankly I think you'd be 'safer' there than in a china mart parking lot. Ever notice a lotta scumbags hang out around Wally World? Least they do 'round here ...

there are a few that have spaces with a/c / heat designed to roll up in a truck window and minimal electric but it's not cheap and it's not common... most are just a parking lot with no hookups of any kind..... keep in mind that truck stops and to a lesser degree rest areas and wallyworld's are gonna be noisy where as campgrounds are usually very quiet

Unless it's the KOA in Daytona Beach. Borders on train tracks & an industrial area. Also appears to be where fire ants originated. You ain't camped til ya camped there ...

Having said that, it's probly better'n gettin run outa wally world ...?
